Methodology
Tanzania Pay As You Earn (PAYE) is governed by the Income Tax Act. Resident individuals are taxed on progressive monthly brackets: 0 to 270,000 TZS (0%), 270,001 to 520,000 TZS (8%), 520,001 to 760,000 TZS (20%), 760,001 to 1,000,000 TZS (25%), and excess over 1,000,000 TZS (30%). Employee pension contribution of 10% to NSSF/PSSSF is fully deductible before applying tax bands. Non-residents are taxed at a flat 15% without allowances.
